Start Subscription

Requires owner or admin. member and viewer users can review billing state, but they cannot start checkout.

Use this guide when the Billing tab shows an inactive organization and you need to launch Stripe Checkout from the dashboard.

Steps

  1. Open the dashboard and switch to the Billing tab.
  2. Confirm the org status is INACTIVE.
  3. Look for the Subscribe button.
  4. If the button is missing, confirm that your account has manage_billing.
  5. Click Subscribe.
  6. You are redirected to Stripe Checkout to complete the purchase.

  1. Return to the dashboard when Stripe sends you back, then confirm the Billing tab now shows an active subscription.

What To Expect

  • The dashboard shows subscription status and may show a generic Plan label for an active subscription.
  • The dashboard does not embed a payment form or plan picker.
  • The checkout flow is a redirect to Stripe Checkout, not an in-app billing form.

If You Get Stuck

  • If Subscribe is missing, the org may already be active or your role may not include manage_billing.
  • If Stripe Checkout does not open, reload the Billing tab and try again.
